Two Year Old Classes

The Twos classes teach from a broad variety of resources that focus on the Bible, academics, and development which allows the child to explore, play and learn new things. Handwriting Without Tears is a developmental writing program that begins in the twos and focuses on building muscles in the hands to produce good writing and fine motor skills. Another component of our Twos is the social interaction between peers and adults on an independent level. For most children, the Twos class is the initial exposure to a classroom environment while still maintaining a play-based setting.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten follows the same pacing guide as Forsyth County Schools, meaning that the curriculum covered will be similarly scheduled throughout the year as other kindergarteners in our county public schools. PPPK students will continue working through the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum and proper letter and number formation using uppercase and lowercase letters. They will continue work on reading skills, journal writing, phonics, spelling and sight word recognition. In Math, they will work on problem solving, number sense, advanced counting and patterning, basic addition, time, and money. Our kindergarteners participate in circle time, large and small group centers, and independent work. The age requirements directly correlate with the state of Georgia: all students must turn five on or before September 1 of the calendar year. Because this is a half-day kindergarten, the pacing is fast and students must be able to move through the curriculum quickly with the class.
